## 1. Productivity: Five Chronotype Subtypes

You've probably been told you're either a "morning person" or a "night owl."

Turns out, that's too simple.

New research from [Nature](https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-025-66784-8) (27,030 participants via the UK Biobank) identified five distinct chronotype subtypes, each with different brain structures, health profiles and behavioural patterns:

- High-Performing Night Owl.
- Vulnerable Owl.
- Healthy Early Bird.
- Female-Biased Morning Type.
- Male-Biased Night Owl.

The female and male-biased profiles are interesting because they come with health downsides. The two you want to be in are High-Performing Night Owl or Healthy Early Bird.

The good news? You can shift towards those profiles. Lower your smoking and drinking, improve your health, and work on puzzle-solving abilities. The habits of the high-performing subtypes aren't just genetic luck, they're lifestyle choices.

## 2. Ops: AI Is Your New Team

A traditional team costs hundreds of thousands per year in salaries alone.

A 20X Claude Max subscription? $200/month.

If you're a solopreneur or small founder, you can now do the work of an entire team yourself... if you know how to use AI properly. Layer on some traditional software tools and you can compete against companies 3x your size.

It's actually not that complicated — grab a subscription, open up Claude, go through each area of your business and ask it what it can realistically help you with.

This isn't a prediction. It's already happening. Companies are restructuring around AI capabilities instead of headcount.

The question isn't whether AI will replace team members. It's whether you'll learn to leverage it before your competitors do. I cover how to deploy AI across your business and rebuild processes to be AI-first in [_The AI Playbook_](https://aaronlynn.com/courses/ai-playbook-for-ceos/).

## 3. Tech: Something Big Is Happening

You've likely seen [this post from Matt Shumer](https://shumer.dev/something-big-is-happening) recently and it sums up what I've been thinking for weeks:

_"If people really knew how much the working world has changed in the last six months, there would be riots in the streets."_

He's not wrong. The models released at the end of last year — GPT-5.2, Opus 4.5, and now GPT-5.3 Codex and Opus 4.6 — represent a qualitative shift. AI is now smarter than most human employees at most white-collar tasks.

The only people freaking out are developers, because the tools right now are built for them and to replace them. I'm talking about CLI tools like Claude Code and Codex.

Most white-collar workers are still using AI inside LinkedIn or at most ChatGPT on the web. They haven't seen what's actually possible.

As expected with any viral opinion piece, a lot of people wrote rebuttals to Shumer. But the people saying that AI can't replace workers or who are complaining about how AI is a bubble, or will have zero productivity impact are using the free plans, $20 plans or older LLMs. As Shumer says, that's like buying an old flip phone Nokia and saying that mobile phones don't do anything when everyone else is using iPhones and Android devices.

It's only a matter of time before smart developers and software companies bring Claude Code-style workflows and features into the mainstream workplace.

I agree with Matt's recommendations from the article:

- Upgrade to premium AI tools (Opus 4.6 or GPT-5.2).
- Integrate AI into your actual work, not just casual queries. You can literally ask Claude what it can help you with and how.
- Build a financial backup plan.
- Dedicate one hour daily to AI experimentation.

If you need a head start, grab my [_Complete Claude, Claude Code and AI for Office Productivity_](https://aaronlynn.com/courses/ai-for-work-productivity/) course. Bundle the experimentation into a few weekend hours if daily doesn't work — that's what I do. Once you start getting into it, you'll realise both Matt and I are correct. The working world changed while most people were sleeping.
